KPOO

KPOO has been a San Francisco institution since its founding in the 1970s as “poor people’s radio.” (kPOO'). KPOO was the first to put rap, salsa, and reggae on the bay area airwaves.

The station is unapologetically Black-run, and everything’s joyfully held together by KPOO's long-time station manager JJ.
